Billy Cobham' Quintet (US) Han är nu över 80 år men visar inga tecken på att sakta ner. Den legendariske trummisen Billy Cobham, född i Panama och uppvuxen i Brooklyn, slog igenom på 1960-talet, först med Miles Davis och sedan som en av grundarna till Mahavishnu Orchestra, gruppen som för alltid förändrade mötet mellan jazz och rock. Få trummisar har satt ett lika djupt avtryck i den moderna musikhistorien. Som en av jazzfusionens verkliga pionjärer har Cobham ständigt tänjt på gränserna mellan jazz, rock och funk med explosiv teknik, total precision och en obändig kreativitet. |

Lelo Nika Septet (SRB/DK/SE/RO) Ett möte mellan sju musiker med olika bakgrund men ett gemensamt språk – musiken. Dragspelaren Lelo Nika har tillsammans med basisten Thommy Andersson och cimbalomspelaren George Mihalache turnerat världen över i mer än två decennier. I denna septett förenas trion med den danska Hermes String Quartet, kända för sina konstnärliga samarbeten och sitt lyhörda sätt att närma sig musik över genregränser. Tillsammans skapar de ett musikaliskt möte som rör sig mellan passion, poesi och rytmisk intensitet. |

Angles & Elle-Kari: The Death of Kalypso The Death of Kalypso är en surrealistisk och genreöverskridande jazzopera där Martin Küchens jazzensemble Angles möter stråkar och sångerskan Elle-Kari Sander, en av vår tids mest intressanta och uppmärksammade vokalister. Här vävs antika myter samman med samtidens mörker – krig, sorg, passion och hybris – i ett verk där verklighet och myt smälter samman. Küchens musik rör sig mellan explosiv improvisation, drone och melodisk skönhet, med Elle-Kari i centrum, vars röst bär sångerna som klara stjärnor i en oceanisk natt. |

Grand Tango Afton Konsert med Guillermo Fernandez & Cesar Angeleri feat. Tango Primo och Dj. Jessica Carlesson. Vårens tangokonsert på Mix Musik bjuder på Argentinas populäraste tangosångaren Guillermo Fernandez, vinnaren av Premios Konex 2015 som “Årtiondets Bästa tangosångare” tillsammans med en av tangons främsta tangogitarrist Cesar Angeleri.Konserten gästas av Tango Primo bestående av Juanjo Passo på bandoneon, Hedda Heiskanen piano och Per Tidtstrand cello. Kvällens Tango Dj’n är Jessica Carlesson från Stockholm. Under kvällen är det livemusik med tangotrion Tango Primo från Malmö som spelar till dans! |

Alvin Lucier: Silver Streetcar for the Orchestra (Adapted for Two Triangles) Originally composed in 1988, Alvin Lucier "Silver Streetcar for the Orchestra" is a minimalist piece that explores the sonic possibilities of a single triangle. In this special adaptation for two triangles, the performance expands to create a nuanced dialogue between the instruments. Lucier, a pioneer in experimental music and sound art, invites listeners to engage with the micro-variations in sound produced by the triangles. The performers explore different striking techniques, revealing a rich palette of overtones and resonances. This adaptation amplifies the complexity and interplay of soundwaves, enhancing the meditative quality of the piece and inviting listeners to immerse themselves in an evolving sound world. Yiran Zhao: Piep for Two Metronomes Yiran Zhao "Piep" is a captivating exploration of rhythm, time, and mechanical precision. Composed for two metronomes, the piece transforms these everyday tools of musicianship into primary performers, creating a unique auditory experience. Zhao delves into the intricate interplay of the metronomes' ticking, challenging our perception of time and rhythm. The resulting soundscape is both mesmerizing and meditative, highlighting the beauty in mechanical regularity and subtle deviations."Piep invites the audience to reconsider their understanding of musical performance and the nature of time, offering a profound listening experience that transcends the simplicity of the instruments. Kelley Sheehan: New Ears for Two Cone Speakers and Objects Kelley Sheehan's "New Ears" is an inventive exploration of sound, space, and the interaction between electronic and acoustic elements. Composed for two cone speakers and various objects, the piece challenges traditional notions of musical performance and listening. Sheehan employs found objects to interact with the speakers, creating a dynamic and evolving soundscape. The work blurs the lines between electronic and acoustic sound production, encouraging the audience to engage with sound in a new and exploratory manner. "New Ears" fosters a heightened awareness of the acoustic environment and the subtleties of sonic interaction, transforming everyday objects into instruments of artistic expression.
Luca Guidarini: Amber Mold
Luca Guidarini's "Amber Mold" is a compelling exploration of texture, form, and transformation in sound. Drawing inspiration from the organic process of resin hardening into amber, the piece delves into themes of preservation, time, and metamorphosis. "Amber Mold" unfolds through evolving sonic landscapes, where layers of sound gradually accumulate and solidify. Guidarini's intricate use of harmony and rhythm evokes a sense of suspended time, capturing the essence of transformation. The piece invites the audience to contemplate the beauty of change and the passage of time, offering a meditative and dynamic listening experience.
